Why Use CNC?

CNC is a new technology that has arrived on the scene, allowing us here at Booker Timber to provide quality in sheet cutting. CNC cutting and routing techniques combine power and amazing accuracy to provide quality sheet cutting. With this power and accuracy, we are able to cut exact shapes with absolute precision. CNC stands for computer numerically controlled, basically meaning that the accuracy comes from a high powered computer program that is linked to a powerful cutting device.

As individual shapes can be cut, this allows us here at Booker Timber to cut to size chipboard, MDF, and plastics to any shape the customer desires. So whether you are looking for large scale items for the trade sector, or want shelves or grilles for example, we can cut them for you.

To do this we use very large machines. Due to the huge nature and size of our cutting machines, we are able to cut up to several inches thick of plastics or woods. We can also cut up to 6 metres in length and up to 3.8 metres in width.

The advantages to CNC cutting are huge. Arguably the biggest advantage to this CNC cutting is accuracy. Due to the precision of our equipment, we can cut up to 0.1millimetre accuracy. This accuracy is impressive, and something which is very difficult to match through conventional ways of cutting. The second biggest advantage is cost. CNC enables us to keep our costs down as we make sure to keep off cuts to a low. You only pay for what you buy.
